Free full text online journals

The following are sources of full text online journals that are free to everyone or are available free of charge to MUHAS staff and students through a subsidized access programme (INASP/PERI) or a national provision covering all of Tanzania.

To filter out all the free full text from about 500 medical journals, type your search term followed by AND Free Full Text [Filter] and then click on Go.

About 1600 journals, most in English.  Click on specialties, then your field of interest, then the journal you want to see.  When you get to the journal?s home page, look around for Search and the list of all issues? labeled Archives or Browse or Issues.

Note that some journals are only available a year after publication.

About 700 full-text journals available through INASP.   Click on health sciences or medicine, then your field, then the journal, then the issue, then full text or pdf.  You can also search through all the journals using the search option.

  • Highwire    highwire.stanford.edu/lists/devecon.dtl

About 100 free full-text journals.

Only 25 journals, but very good ones.

Through cooperation between the MUHAS Library and the ICT Directorate, registration forms and updated IP numbers have now been submitted to several other publishers in order to make even more full text journals available through INASP.  Links will be added here as they become accessible.
