Lars Dahlgren, Professor of Medical Sociology since 2002 at the departments of Epidemiology and Public Health Sciences and Sociology, Umeå University, Sweden. His main research interest is in the fields of applied sociology with focus on health - and social problems. Since 1987 research on HIV/AIDS in Tanzania, and throughout his research career work with planning with focus on the processes of mobilising people and empowerment. In recent years he has worked within the field of sociology of emotions as well as with qualitative methods, preferably grounded theory. His pedagogic
experience is comprehensive and during the last decades concentrated
upon master courses in medical sociology and qualitative methods. His
scientific production comprises about 150 works. He has supervised ten
doctoral students, half of them as a principal supervisor, and ten on-going.
He is a member of the Sida/SAREC's peer review committee for biomedical
and public health research. . |
