Lennarth Nyström, PhD, Associate professor, Epidemiology and Public Health Sciences, Department of Public Health and Clinical Medicine, Umeå University. Senior lecturer in biostatistics. Research is focused on the evaluation of mammography screening. Other research includes epidemiological studies of diabetes, epilepsy, asthma and multiple sclerosis. Also involved in studies of reproductive health in Zimbabwe and Tanzania and evaluation of a malaria programme in Indonesia. Since 1990, together with professor Gunilla Lindmark Uppsala University, coordinating the research collaboration with departments of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Public Health and Nursing, Muhimbili College of Health Sciences, focused on maternal mortality, anaemia in pregnancy, and quality of antenatal and postpartum care. Nyström has published 122 papers in international journals, 14 in national journals, and 14 "letters" and further 4 are accepted for publication and 23 are submitted. |
